Hey

I’m a teenage whos trying out his own ‘style’ haha. Anyways, I was thinking about adding a chain to me. The type of chain I’m looking for is like this. http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/14k-White-Gold-Overlay-24-inch-Gucci-style-Necklace-6mm/3250112/product.html Something like that, however I don’t it too long. When It’s around my neck I want it to be short so that the chain forms a circle, rather than an oval. I don’t like long chains, they look obnoxious especially when people have crosses on them… my opinion anyways..

So, does anybody know a good store that carries (small) chain necklesses for cheap? Stuff like Kohl’s, etc. I wanna go to a store because I wanna see it in person. Preferably a place that sells them cheap too haha.

P.S. Would you think a chain would look tool/poserish/wiggerish? Not trying to ‘copy’ anybody, but I think a chain would look decent on me.. but I see a lot of fake people wearing like ten chains and stuff…

Well in my opinion I think that if you get the right length and type of chain it can look really cool on guys. The only objection I have with guys wearing chains, is when those hip hop guys wear those oversized chains, and so many of them! As for where you could get cheap chains. If you go to a local craft shop like spotlight or a local jewelry supply shop you can get wholesale price chains and choose the length, you can also choose from a wide variety of chains and metals. After you get the chain you need to get a catch (the part used to fasten the chain), pliers (a pinching tool you might be able to find in your garage), and these little loops of strong wire used to link together chains and other things in jewelry (I forgot what they were called. Hope you get what I’m talking about.). Then you take the chain, and using the pliers, link together the chain and the catch with the loop, and put a loop on the other end of the chain so the catch has something to fasten onto. Just beware that some lengths of chain can be feminine. Experiment with different lengths of string around your neck to find the right length. Beware when you add the catch and loop, it will add a little length to the finished peice.
